Our journey through SE Queensland on the return trip

Our journey through south-east Queensland took us directly from the border town of Goondiwindi to Fraser Island via Dalby, Kingaroy, Maryborough and Hervey Bay. By crossing our own trail at Dalby, we completed our circumnavigation of the continent of Australia.

We went whale-watching in Hervey bay and then explored Fraser Island on an organised tour.

From Fraser Island we started heading south, pausing for a while in a Kenilworth State Forest and at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. We then drove through the spectacular sunshine coast hinterland, stopping for a night at Palmwoods and then again in the suburb of Chapel Hill in Brisbane.

Like our journey through Queensland earlier in the trip, we enjoyed the generous hospitality of Queensland folk who took us into their homes even though they had never met us before.
